Frequently Asked Questions

POPULAR QUESTIONS

Well, that’s million- dollar question! It varies. Tooth whitening will not necessarily make everyone’s teeth snow white, but for sure it will make them whiter.

As a matter of fact, our products have been tested on their efficacy by independent testing bodies such as Eurofins and were found to give an average bleaching efficacy of 3.6 shades, with testers yielding up to 7 shades after 1 single treatment. But hey, don’t take our word for it. Feel free to ask us about the independent report on the efficacy of our products.

In any case, it’s best to have realistic expectations and understand that tooth whitening will not change the natural color of teeth. What it will do is remove stains and restore teeth back to their original color.

Nope — not at all. Generally, tooth sensitivity is only experienced with highly concentrated peroxide gels but our gels release practically no peroxide. At most you will feel the mintiness of the gel, thanks to the peppermint oil that has been included to the formula to give you a nice, fresh taste. But what actually causes tooth sensitivity, you may wonder? Tooth dehydration. Peroxide gels penetrate the enamel to reach the discolored molecules inside the teeth, and while the pores of the enamel are open teeth lose essential minerals and hydration, leading to tooth dehydration and causing tooth sensitivity. Non peroxide-based gels, however, do not penetrate the enamel, but rather work on the surface of the teeth, eliminating any potential sensitivity problems.

No, Glamwhite products release practically no peroxide, so there is no damage to the tooth enamel.

Most people will see results after the first application.

No, our gels are manufactured at an FDA registered, ISO and GMP* certified lab in the United States using high quality ingredients. * FDA: US Food and Drug Administration / ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 22716: 2007 / GMP: Good Manufacturing Practices

Teeth whitening doesn’t cause white stains. If you notice white stains on the teeth after getting your teeth whitened, it means that the spots were already present on the teeth before the treatment. As the whitening agent cleans and whitens the surface of the teeth it makes the white spots more visible, making the condition more noticeable. So where do these white stains come from? They come from hypocalcification, which is a defect in the enamel caused by insufficient amount of calcium. But don’t worry, the white spots are temporary and not harmful. After a few days the white spots will fade and no longer be noticeable.

TOOTH WHITENING

Teeth darken in many ways and for many reasons. They can be stained yellow, orange, brown, gray or even black, depending on the cause. Here are a few common causes of tooth discoloration: foods and drinks (coffee, tea, colas, wines and certain foods such as tomatoes, citrus fruits, berries and dark colored sauces), smoking, antibiotics (especially when used before the age of 8 years), chemotherapy, excessive intake of fluoride (fluorosis) and mild tooth trauma.

Most people will benefit from tooth whitening, but there are a number of exceptions and results may vary depending on the type of tooth discoloration. See question “What causes teeth staining and discoloration?”. The best candidates include tea and coffee drinkers, smokers, and those with stains acquired by dietary habits (external factors). This type of tooth discoloration affects the enamel, or surface of the tooth, and can easily be removed by tooth whitening. Teeth stained by external factors typically have a yellowish tint. On the other hand, those with stains that affect the inner structure of the teeth (internal factors) may not be good candidates for tooth whitening. These stains, which typically appear grayish or grey-brown, are usually caused by disease or medication.

No, tooth whitening doesn’t work on artificial dentalwork such as veneers, crowns, caps, fillings, bridges and dentures.

If you wear braces please wait until these are removed before using any tooth whitening products to avoid uneven whitening.

If your teeth are crooked, make sure the gel is in touch with the entire surface of your teeth to prevent uneven results.

We don’t recommend using tooth whitening products if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Tooth whitening should only be used by adults with healthy gums and teeth. If in doubt, seek dental advice.

GLAMWHITE PRODUCTS

Our products release less than 0.1% hydrogen peroxide, in accordance with the EU Cosmetics Directive. The key whitening ingredient in our gels is sodium percarbonate, an eco-friendly chemical which decomposes into oxygen, water and natural soda ash when it comes into contact with saliva. It’s highly effective, gentle and safe.

All our products are 100% vegan, cruelty-free, kosher and gluten free.

Our Elite Kit contains 10 mL of teeth whitening gel, enough for an up to 6-day treatment.

The Xpress Smile Kit contains 15 mL, giving you enough gel to do up to 9 applications. This allows you to do a complete treatment of 6 days and 3 additional applications to maintain or improve the results.

The GlamWhite Teeth Whitening pen contains 2 mL of teeth whitening gel, which is applied directly to the teeth. The number of applications will depend on how generous you are when extruding the gel. In general, you should have enough gel for at least 5 days.

Results can last 1-2 months. For longer lasting results, avoid dark colored foods and drinks. A good rule of thumb is “if it could stain your shirt, it will stain your teeth!”. Needless to say, the whitening effect won’t last as long if you smoke.

To keep a nice, bright smile we recommend that you use our refills to do touch-up treatments from time to time.

We recommend storing all products in a cool, dry area.
